Ger at Dusk, Gobi Desert

A single ger sits on the open steppe as the sky turns pink and violet behind it. A small solar panel is mounted on the roof. A motorcycle is parked beside the blue-painted door. Milk cans sit in the dirt. The flat line of the horizon runs unbroken in every direction. Someone decided this was far enough, and built a life here. The solar panel is the detail that stays with you, one small concession to the century, everything else unchanged for a thousand years.
