Our Story

THROAT is a collective of artists, activists, and storytellers. Our premise: the people closest to the world's most consequential issues are the ones best positioned to explain them. We cover peace and conflict, basic freedoms and civic engagement, economic justice and labor, identity and culture, climate and environment, health, wellbeing and equity, and technology and society, through the eyes of the people living them.

The platform exists for the important work that goes unseen, unheard, or unperformed: artists operating outside the reach of commercial distribution, journalists and conflict photographers working in restricted and hostile terrain, and activists and civil society advocating for policy change.

Work published here is verified human, economically supported, and editorially serious. The collective keeps the lights on. Our stakeholders keep the record straight.
